The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.9¢ 192.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.9¢ to 191¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.9¢ to 193.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (195¢), Victoria (194.1¢), NSW/ACT (192.7¢), Queensland (191¢), South Australia (190.7¢), and Western Australia (188.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (187.2¢), Sydney (190.8¢), Darwin (190.8¢), Brisbane (191.5¢), Melbourne (193.1¢), Hobart (195.9¢), and Canberra (199.1¢).
