The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.3¢ to 204.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 25 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.8¢ to 203.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.5¢ to 205.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 224.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (208.6¢), NSW/ACT (206.1¢), Victoria (204.7¢), Queensland (204.5¢), South Australia (201.5¢), and Western Australia (199.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 195.7¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (195.9¢), Melbourne (204.1¢), Brisbane (204.5¢), Sydney (204.7¢), Canberra (208.3¢), Darwin (209.6¢), and Hobart (209.9¢).
