The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.9¢ to 201.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.2¢ to 199.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.7¢ to 202.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (206.4¢), NSW/ACT (202¢), Queensland (201.8¢), Victoria (200.9¢), South Australia (198.7¢), and Western Australia (198.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 193.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (195.2¢), Darwin (199.1¢), Sydney (198.7¢), Melbourne (201.4¢), Brisbane (201.6¢), Hobart (205.7¢), and Canberra (207.9¢).
