The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.2¢ 179.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.2¢ to 177.7¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.2¢ to 181.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 198.9¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (180.8¢), Queensland (180.3¢), Tasmania (180.1¢), NSW/ACT (179.7¢), South Australia (177.6¢), and Western Australia (175.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 171.4¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (172.3¢), Adelaide (175.6¢), Sydney (176.8¢), Melbourne (179.9¢), Hobart (180.1¢), Brisbane (180.3¢), and Canberra (187.7¢).
