The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2¢ 184.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.4¢ to 182.8¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.8¢ to 186¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 213.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (187.3¢), NSW/ACT (185.6¢), Victoria (184.4¢), Queensland (184.3¢), South Australia (182.3¢), and Western Australia (180.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 176.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (177¢), Sydney (182.8¢), Melbourne (182.7¢), Brisbane (184.6¢), Hobart (185.5¢), Canberra (193.7¢), and Darwin (199¢).
