The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.3¢ to 196.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.3¢ 194¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 198.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 223.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (205.6¢), NSW/ACT (197¢), Queensland (196.7¢), Victoria (196.5¢), South Australia (193.7¢), and Western Australia (190.6¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (186.9¢), Sydney (193.6¢), Melbourne (194.8¢), Brisbane (196¢), Canberra (202.8¢), Hobart (205.7¢), and Darwin (209¢).
