The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dropped by 0.3¢ to 134.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.5¢ to 133.5¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped by 0.2¢ to 135.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 147.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (139.8¢), South Australia (135.0¢), Victoria (134.9¢), NSW/ACT (134.5¢), Western Australia (134.2¢), and Queensland (133.8¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 131.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (132.0¢), Darwin (132.1¢), Sydney (132.2¢), Brisbane (133.9¢), Melbourne (134.4¢), Canberra (138.9¢) and Hobart (140.5¢).
