Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.6¢ to 142.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 2.0¢ to 145.4¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.7¢ to 137.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in NT at 149.6¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (146.3¢), Victoria (145.2¢), Tasmania (142.3¢), Queensland (139.4¢), Western Australia (138.9¢), and South Australia (134.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 133.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (138.5¢), Darwin (139.8¢), Canberra (140.1¢), Brisbane (140.1¢), Hobart (143.0¢), Melbourne (149.1¢) and Sydney (153.5¢).
