Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 11.2¢ to 233.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 12¢ to 232.7¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 10.6¢ to 234.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 246.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (241.3¢), South Australia (233.8¢), NSW/ACT (233.6¢), Queensland (233.6¢), Western Australia (232.7¢), and Victoria (232.5¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 230.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (230.6¢), Sydney (232.3¢), Melbourne (232.4¢), Brisbane (233.8¢), Canberra (235.2¢), Darwin (235.8¢), and Hobart (240.9¢).
