The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.1¢ to 118.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 117.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.1¢ to 119.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 135.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (130.4¢), Victoria (118.9¢), Western Australia (118.7¢), NSW/ACT (118.2¢), South Australia (118.0¢) and Queensland (117.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 109.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (115.1¢), Perth (116.6¢), Darwin (116.9¢), Brisbane (117.4¢), Melbourne (118.2¢), Canberra (121.1¢) and Hobart (133.2¢).
