Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.3¢ to 221.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 22 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.1¢ to 220.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.3¢ to 222.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 236.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (228.2¢), Victoria (222.5¢), Queensland (222¢), NSW/ACT (221.1¢), South Australia (218.9¢), and Western Australia (218.3¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 215.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (216.2¢), Sydney (218.7¢), Darwin (221.5¢), Brisbane (221.9¢), Melbourne (222.1¢), Canberra (227.4¢), and Hobart (227.1¢).
