The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.2¢ to 206.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 22 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.4¢ to 203.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.1¢ to 208.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 232.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (213.7¢), Queensland (208.8¢), Victoria (206.5¢), NSW/ACT (206.3¢), South Australia (201.7¢), and Western Australia (197.8¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 193.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (194.9¢), Sydney (200.7¢), Melbourne (204.5¢), Brisbane (207.9¢), Hobart (211.3¢), Canberra (212.5¢), and Darwin (218.1¢).
