Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.9¢ 194.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.1¢ to 192.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.7¢ to 195.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (196¢), Queensland (195.8¢), NSW/ACT (194.7¢), Victoria (194.3¢), South Australia (191.9¢), and Western Australia (189.2¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 185.6¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (188.1¢), Adelaide (189.4¢), Sydney (191.9¢), Melbourne (194.2¢), Hobart (195.4¢), Brisbane (196.4¢), and Canberra (204.4¢).
