Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.4¢ 202.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.5¢ to 200.4¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.4¢ to 203.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (206.8¢), NSW/ACT (203.4¢), Queensland (202.5¢), Victoria (201.6¢), South Australia (200.6¢), and Western Australia (198.5¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (197.3¢), Darwin (199.3¢), Sydney (200.6¢), Melbourne (201.4¢), Brisbane (202.1¢), Hobart (206.5¢), and Canberra (210.5¢).
