The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.4¢ to 192.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.1¢ to 189.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.6¢ to 194.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (198.7¢), NSW/ACT (193.7¢), Queensland (192.8¢), Western Australia (191.1¢), Victoria (189.5¢), and South Australia (188.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 183.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (185.8¢), Melbourne (188.7¢), Sydney (189.1¢), Darwin (189.5¢), Brisbane (192.6¢), Hobart (195.9¢), and Canberra (201.7¢).
