The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 5.7¢ to 212.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.6¢ to 211.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 5.7¢ to 213.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (214.9¢), Victoria (213.4¢), NSW/ACT (213¢), Queensland (212.7¢), Western Australia (210.1¢), and South Australia (208.8¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 208.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (209.2¢), Sydney (211.2¢), Darwin (212.2¢), Melbourne (212.8¢), Brisbane (213.4¢), Hobart (213.8¢), and Canberra (216.9¢).
