The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.9¢ to 185.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.9¢ to 183.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1¢ to 187¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 207¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (187.5¢), Queensland (186.6¢), Victoria (184.9¢), NSW/ACT (184.5¢), South Australia (183.4¢), and Western Australia (182.8¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 179.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (180.2¢), Adelaide (181.3¢), Melbourne (183.2¢), Darwin (184.6¢), Hobart (186.4¢), Brisbane (186.5¢), and Canberra (193.5¢).
