Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.2¢ 182.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ 180¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.3¢ to 184.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 213.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (185.7¢), NSW/ACT (183.3¢), Queensland (182.9¢), Victoria (182.2¢), South Australia (179.8¢), and Western Australia (177.6¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 172¢ a litre, followed by Perth (173¢), Sydney (179¢), Melbourne (180.2¢), Brisbane (182.5¢), Hobart (184.1¢), Canberra (192.4¢), and Darwin (199¢).
