Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia increased 0.1¢ to 198.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 19 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 0.2¢ to 196.0¢ a litre, while the regional price increased 0.1¢ to 200.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (209.4¢), NSW/ACT (199.6¢), Queensland (199.4¢), Victoria (198.5¢), South Australia (197.2¢), and Western Australia (191.7¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 187.7¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (190.9¢), Sydney (195.9¢), Melbourne (196.8¢), Brisbane (198.1¢), Canberra (207.6¢), Hobart (208.1¢), and Darwin (209.9¢).
