The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 1.1¢ to 132.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.2¢ to 132.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.1¢ to 133.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 145.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (137.9¢), Victoria (133.0¢), Western Australia (132.8¢), NSW/ACT (132.4¢), Queensland (132.0¢) and South Australia (131.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 128.8¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (130.2¢), Sydney (130.6¢), Perth (130.7¢), Melbourne (133.0¢), Brisbane (133.0¢), Canberra (136.3¢) and Hobart (138.3¢).
