The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.3¢ to 149.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 14, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.1¢ to 148.7¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.3¢ to 150¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 162.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (159.9¢), WA (150.3¢), SA (149.1¢), NSW/ACT (149¢), Queensland (148.9¢) and Victoria (147.7¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 147.1¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (147.3¢), Melbourne (147.9¢), Perth (148.7¢), Adelaide (148.8¢), Brisbane (149.8¢), Canberra (152.8¢) and Hobart (158.7¢).
