The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.6¢ to 205.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.5¢ to 203.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.7¢ to 207.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (210.5¢), NSW/ACT (207.1¢), Victoria (205.2¢), Queensland (205.1¢), South Australia (204.6¢), and Western Australia (202¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 198.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (199.2¢), Melbourne (204.3¢), Brisbane (204.9¢), Sydney (205¢), Canberra (210.1¢), Darwin (210.5¢), and Hobart (212¢).
