The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 1.6¢ to 201.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.9¢ to 199.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.4¢ to 203.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 218.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (205.8¢), NSW/ACT (202.6¢), Queensland (202.3¢), Victoria (201¢), South Australia (199.6¢), and Western Australia (198.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (197.7¢), Sydney (199.4¢), Darwin (197.9¢), Melbourne (200.7¢), Brisbane (202.3¢), Hobart (205.2¢), and Canberra (209.9¢).
