The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.1¢ to 154.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 1, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.1¢ to 154.8¢ a litre, with the regional price also falling 0.2¢ to 153.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.9¢), WA (156.3¢), Queensland (153.6¢), Victoria (153.3¢), NSW/ACT (153¢) and SA (151.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 147.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (151.5¢), Melbourne (155¢), Brisbane (155.3¢), Perth (156.2¢), Canberra (157.2¢) and Hobart (161¢).
