Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1¢ to 149.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 1, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.4¢ to 148.9¢ a litre, with the regional price down 0.1¢ to 151.7¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 163¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158¢), Queensland (155.5¢), Victoria (151.9¢), WA (148.8¢), NSW/ACT (147.5¢) and SA (136.3¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 131.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (144.8¢), Perth (146.8¢), Melbourne (152.7¢), Canberra (155¢), Darwin (156¢), Brisbane (156.4¢) and Hobart (158.1¢).
