The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.4¢ 182.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 16 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.6¢ to 180.4¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.1¢ to 184.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (185.8¢), NSW/ACT (183.7¢), Queensland (182.3¢), Victoria (182.1¢), South Australia (179.7¢), and Western Australia (178.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 172.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (174.2¢), Sydney (180.2¢), Melbourne (180.2¢), Brisbane (182.2¢), Hobart (184¢), Canberra (192.3¢), and Darwin (198.8¢).
