The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.2¢ to 196.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 16 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.1¢ 194.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.1¢ to 198.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 223.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (205.3¢), NSW/ACT (197.4¢), Queensland (197.1¢), Victoria (196.8¢), South Australia (193.7¢), and Western Australia (190.4¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (187.8¢), Sydney (194.2¢), Melbourne (195¢), Brisbane (196.4¢), Canberra (202.9¢), Hobart (205.7¢), and Darwin (209¢).
