The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 7.1¢ to 207.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 15 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 6.9¢ to 206.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 7.3¢ to 209.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 218¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (215.4¢), South Australia (210.1¢), Queensland (208.4¢), Victoria (208.2¢), NSW/ACT (207¢), and Western Australia (204.4¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 202¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (205¢), Melbourne (206.1¢), Adelaide (206.2¢), Brisbane (208.3¢), Canberra (209.9¢), Darwin (210.1¢), and Hobart (216.2¢).
