The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.2¢ to 209.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 15 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.7¢ to 206.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.8¢ to 211.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 233.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (215.4¢), Queensland (212.5¢), Victoria (209.8¢), NSW/ACT (209.6¢), South Australia (204.5¢), and Western Australia (200.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 196.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (197.9¢), Sydney (203.8¢), Melbourne (208.1¢), Brisbane (211.8¢), Hobart (212.5¢), Canberra (215.2¢), and Darwin (220.1¢).
