Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 11¢ to 206.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 11.3¢ to 206.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 10.8¢ to 207.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 221.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (209.9¢), Queensland (207.6¢), Victoria (207.5¢), NSW/ACT (207.2¢), South Australia (204.4¢), and Western Australia (203.1¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 201.1¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (203.8¢), Sydney (206.9¢), Melbourne (206.9¢), Hobart (207.9¢), Brisbane (208.4¢), Darwin (208.4¢), and Canberra (211.1¢).
