The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1¢ 191.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.1¢ to 189.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.9¢ to 192.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 210.2¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (192.6¢), Victoria (192.1¢), Tasmania (191.8¢), NSW/ACT (191.6¢), South Australia (187.9¢), and Western Australia (186.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 183.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (184.9¢), Darwin (185.7¢), Sydney (188.5¢), Hobart (190.2¢), Melbourne (191.6¢), Brisbane (192.7¢), and Canberra (202.6¢).
