The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.2¢ to 200.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.1¢ to 198¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.1¢ to 201.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 218.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (203.4¢), NSW/ACT (201¢), Queensland (200.4¢), Victoria (199.5¢), South Australia (198.2¢), and Western Australia (197.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 192.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (196¢), Sydney (197.8¢), Darwin (197.9¢), Melbourne (198.6¢), Brisbane (200.3¢), Hobart (202.7¢), and Canberra (207.8¢).
