The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.7¢ to 216¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.6¢ to 215.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.7¢ to 216.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 229.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (219.5¢), Victoria (216.2¢), Queensland (216.2¢), NSW/ACT (215.5¢), Western Australia (215.5¢), and South Australia (211.8¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 211.2¢ a litre, followed by Perth (213.3¢), Sydney (213.6¢), Melbourne (215.7¢), Darwin (216.1¢), Brisbane (216.2¢), Hobart (218.7¢), and Canberra (218.9¢).
