Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.6¢ to 202.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.6¢ to 200.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.6¢ to 204.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 220.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (208.7¢), Queensland (203.8¢), NSW/ACT (202.9¢), Victoria (201.5¢), Western Australia (199.9¢), and South Australia (197.3¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 189.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (195.4¢), Sydney (198.6¢), Darwin (199¢), Melbourne (199.6¢), Hobart (205.2¢), Brisbane (204.2¢), and Canberra (206.6¢).
