Media Release
6 October, 2020
Vend, leading instore retail productivity and intelligence software, has today announced a new partnership with National Australia Bank (NAB), giving retailers full integration between in-store retail management of inventory, point of sale and NAB payment systems.
For businesses who bank with NAB and use Vend’s in-store retail management system, this partnership removes the need for manual reconciliation of sales; simplifying and streamlining head office and back end operations for larger retailers, and providing more efficient, time-effective store management capabilities for smaller retailers.
This integration also means that processing each transaction will be quicker at the point of sale, making the experience smoother and more convenient for both customers and businesses.
Commenting on the announcement, Vend’s Founder, Vaughan Ferguson, said: “Vend is pleased to be integrated with Australia’s largest small business bank. Our strategy has always been to be the hub for managing in-store retail, and we have done this by deeply understanding the retail workflow for small and large businesses. Payment processing is an essential part of the in-store retail workflow and we have chosen a partner-led approach, integrating with best in class providers such as NAB. To have NAB on board is a great credit to our integration capabilities and our collective interest and reach into the retail landscape of Australia”.
The integration with NAB follows recent integrations with accounting software MYOB and Pointy – technology that helps bricks-and-mortar retailers promote their in-store products online. Integrations with industry-leading partners highlights Vend’s ‘payment and partner agnostic’ approach which has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth in the market against other retail software and POS solutions.
Tania Motton, Executive Business Everyday Banking for National Australia Bank, said: “We’re delighted to be able to link up with Vend to make running a retail business smoother and easier. NAB is absolutely committed to finding ways of removing barriers for our SMEs and digital tools are a fantastic way of giving them back valuable time while also providing new levels of insight into their business performance.”
William Yarwood, Founder at Project X Racing, added: “The new integration from Vend to NAB has made card sales so much easier. The risk of incorrect entries has been eliminated and allows for a much easier register closure at the end of the day’s trade.”
To stand out in 2020 and beyond, retailers must offer a holistic and memorable customer experience that extends beyond just the quality of their products. Instead, to cater to increasingly savvy customers who favour a convenient service, retailers must be able to accommodate a range of contactless, cardless, mobile and smartphone payment options.
To help retailers do so, Vend – built as the world-first retail POS – is accelerating its evolution as a truly comprehensive retail productivity and intelligence platform, with the NAB partnership enhancing the payments process for retailers and consumers alike. The solution, neatly integrated between iPad and cordless NAB EFTPOS, will offer greater variety, flexibility and security.
