After 10 years off the shelves, the bag format for iconic Australian brand Violet Crumble has been resurrected
Having acquired the brand last year from Nestlé, South Australian confectioner Robern Menz saw significant consumer demand to bring it back in this format.
The new 100g bag aimed at the P&C market is now available to order through The Distributors and Campbells Cash and Carry. A 180g bag has also been launched and is now available in Coles, independent grocery and selected variety stores.
The Violet Crumble bag format was withdrawn by Nestlé in 2010, and Robern Menz was eager to reintroduce it when it began production from its Adelaide factory last year. It offers an alternative to the existing 50g Violet Crumble bar.
“There’s been huge consumer demand for the return of the Violet Crumble bag since it was withdrawn nearly a decade ago, so we’re thrilled to be able to bring this format back,” Robern Menz CEO Phil Sims said.
“It’s a great choice for those wanting to share with friends or family and for those exercising some portion control if they don’t want to indulge in a 50g Violet Crumble bar. We see this as a perfect opportunity to not only delight existing fans, but also introduce it to new ones.”
