The Coffee Club has reintroduced the “beloved” Sizzler Cheese Toast to its menu.
After closing its doors in November 2020, following a 30-year legacy of cheese toasts, grilled steaks, and all-you-can-eat salad bars, Sizzler left an “indelible mark” on Australian dining culture, according to The Coffee Club.
Available only for a two-week period (or until stock runs out), the Sizzler Cheese Toast (RRP $4.99) is said to have caused a “media storm” after a recent pop up at The Coffee Club’s flagship location, Charlotte Street, in collaboration with Kiis FM Brisbane’s Kip & Robin Show.
Sizzler was acquired by Minor International (MINT) in June last year. Both Sizzler and The Coffee Club are operated under MINT within the Minor Food Group, with CEO Scott Menielly at the helm.
“Sizzler’s closure in 2020 was a significant moment for many Australians who grew up with its iconic offerings,” says Mr Menielly. “The return of Sizzler Cheese Toast at The Coffee Club isn’t just about food; it’s about nostalgia and celebrating a cultural icon.
“We’ve secured the top-secret original Sizzler Cheese Toast recipe and are delighted to be able to serve customers across the nation this iconic Sizzler Cheese Toast.
“After seeing the excitement about the prospect of the brand coming back to Australia, this is a fantastic opportunity to Australians to get a taste of nostalgia – a comeback that’s not to be missed.”
