Audit, accounting and advisory firm BDO continues to make its mark on Australian retailers, being named best provider to the manufacturing, wholesaling and retail sector at the 2016 Financial Review Client Choice Awards for the second consecutive year.
The 11th annual awards for professional service firms in Australia and New Zealand, with recognition across a number of categories, were presented at Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel on Tuesday.
The awards are unique in that winners are selected based on input from actual clients, rather than a panel.
BDO National Chairman Helen Argiris said it was an honour to be nominated for the awards, and to be announced as the winner was due recognition of the firm’s dedication to quality client service.
“The manufacturing, wholesaling and retail sector is one of Australia’s most significant and so to be named best provider by clients in those fields is testament to our consistently high level of client focus and sector specialisation,” she said.
“BDO’s hard-working professionals across the country are doing fantastic work for their clients.
“These awards are driven by the voice of the client and demonstrate that consistency is the route to exceptional client service.”
BDO National Retail Lead Partner Simon Scalzo accepted the award, in recognition of BDO’s pioneering work for the sector, including its establishment of the Australian Retail Index (ARI), the first online platform of its kind in the country.
Launched in 2014, the ARI gives retailers access to critical benchmarking information across four key categories: fashion and accessories, furniture and homewares, sporting and recreational goods, and other general retail – providing intelligence about the ‘health’ of their sector and fluctuations in sales data.
