Raw C announces US expansion amid Coconut Water’s ‘explosive’ growth

Australian coconut water brand, Raw C, has officially launched in the US market, representing “a monumental step” in the company’s global growth ambitions.

American consumers can now purchase Raw C Sparkling Refresher Infused with Lychee in select Costco locations across Los Angeles, in time for the summer months.

Like Australia, the US coconut water market has grown significantly in recent years as consumers increasingly gravitate towards healthy beverages over traditional soft drinks.

According to Arizton Advisory & Intelligence, the US coconut water sector was valued at US$1.89 billion in 2023, which is projected to climb to US$5.12 billion by 2029.

Locally in Australia, coconut water market household penetration rose from 19% to 21.3% over the past 12 months, while coconut water litre sales jumped 30% over the same period, Circana previously discovered.

The launch brings a taste of Australia to the US, blending Raw C’s 100% natural coconut water infused with lychee juice and lightly sparkling.

From selling coconut water from the boot of a car in Australia to now going global, Raw C’s US expansion marks a milestone moment for the company as it takes this popular product overseas.

“Expanding into the US is a bold and exciting milestone for Raw C – it feels like the natural next chapter in our journey,” says Scott Mendelsohn, founder and owner of Raw C.

“Our success Down Under has shown us what’s possible and launching with a powerhouse like Costco sets the stage for big things ahead.”

Costco members can enjoy a special introductory price of US$19.89 for a 12-pack, marking a refreshing start to the hotter months.
