The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased by 1.2¢ to 134¢ per litre nationally in the week ending January 29, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.6¢ to 132.7¢ per litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.5¢ to 136.5¢ per litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 145.2¢ per litre, followed by the NT (143.3¢), Queensland (141.2¢), Victoria (135.1¢), WA (133.7¢), NSW/ACT (130.6¢) and SA (122.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 119.9¢ per litre, followed by Sydney (124.6¢), Perth (133.2¢), Melbourne (136.5¢), Canberra (141.1¢), Brisbane (141.2¢), Hobart (143.9¢) and Darwin (144.2¢).
