Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 2.3¢ to 131.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 11, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 3.3¢ to 130.6¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.3¢ a litre to 132.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at a 137.0¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (134.1¢), the NT (132.1¢¢), WA (131.8¢), NSW/ACT (130.6¢), Victoria (130¢), and SA (129.6¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 129¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (129.7¢), Perth and Darwin (130¢), Melbourne (130.3¢), Canberra (130.4¢), Brisbane (133.6¢), and Hobart (136.1¢).
