Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 1.5¢ to 126.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 22, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 2.1¢ to 124.7¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.2¢ a litre to 129.3¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 134.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (133.8¢), the NT (130.9¢), WA (126.9¢), NSW/ACT (125.9¢), SA (123.4¢), and Victoria (120.2¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 118.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (122.2¢), Perth (124.2¢), Sydney (123.5¢), Canberra (128.1¢), Darwin (128.6¢), Hobart (134.0¢), and Brisbane (135.0¢).
