The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased 0.9¢ to 112.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 20, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 1.1¢ to 112.6¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 0.8¢ a litre to 113¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 118.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (118.6¢), Queensland (116.5¢), WA (113.2¢), Victoria (111.9¢), NSW/ACT (110.9¢), and SA (110¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 109.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (109.8¢), Perth (111¢), Melbourne (112.5¢), Darwin (116¢), Canberra (117.1¢), Hobart (117.5¢), and Brisbane (117.8¢).
