Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased 2.6¢ to 127.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 8, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 3.9¢ to 126.1¢ a litre, with the regional price increasing 0.1¢ a litre to 129.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 135.5¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (132.3¢), the NT (131.5¢), SA (129.6¢), NSW/ACT (128.1¢), WA (125.0¢) and Queensland (119.1¢).

Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 113.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (121.5¢), Sydney (127.7¢), Canberra (128.8¢), Darwin (129.1¢), Adelaide (130.2¢), Melbourne (133.7¢), and Hobart (135.1¢).
