Peregrine Director Dr Sam Shahin has presented the Australian Red Cross $2000 from funds raised during the company’s Casual Friday campaign.
According to a Peregrine statement, the core Australian Red Cross values of humanity, impartiality, independence and unity are a “natural fit” for the values of Peregrine Corporation.
Peregrine began its tradition of Casual Friday four months ago. Staff are encouraged to wear casual clothes on the last day of each month in exchange for a gold-coin donation. Each month the company then nominates a different South Australian charity to receive all proceeds, along with a ‘top-up’ from the company itself.
The Australian Red Cross, part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, will be using the proceeds from Peregrine to support its community, emergency-response and blood-donation programs across South Australia.
Peregrine Corporation was established in 1984 and is now one of the top 15 private companies in Australia and the largest private company in South Australia.
