Payo announces $100k commitment to OzHarvest

Payo, promoted as Australia’s first buy now, pay later (BNPL) app exclusive for the hospitality industry, has announced a partnership with OzHarvest.

As an ‘awesome partner’, Payo has committed to donating $100,000 over 12 months. This will enable OzHarvest to deliver an additional 200,000 meals to those in need.

These additional meals, according to Payo, will also divert 100,000kg of food from going into landfill and will prevent 660,000kg of greenhouse emissions through avoiding food waste.

Payo co-founder and CEO Taf Chiwanza says his company is humbled to partner with OzHarvest in a bid to help reduce food waste and nourish individuals, families and communities in need.

“Our app, Payo, was born from the belief that everyone deserves a seat at the table. This sentiment couldn’t be truer when it comes to our partnership with OzHarvest as we want to make sure everyone has access to nourishing and delicious meals. Payo users can also make a positive difference when processing an order payment at the ‘checkout’. Via the app, customers now have the option to donate $1 to OzHarvest which is said to be enough to provide two meals to people in need.
