NightOwl launches fundraising campaign for sick children

The NightOwl community will turn small change into a large difference for sick Queensland kids like three-year-old Lachlan McCafferty, supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation as part of its inaugural OwlGood fundraising campaign.

Customers across NightOwl’s 80 stores in Queensland, NSW and WA can grab their daily essentials and support the Children’s Hospital Foundation on check-out through the purchase of a wall token for $2.

All funds raised will help kids like Lachlan, who has bronchiectasis, tracheobronchomalacia and anaphylaxis.

NightOwl Convenience National Marketing Manager Glenys Tristram is thrilled to announce the first of its kind partnership with the Children’s Hospital Foundation, to support sick and injured kids in the community like Lachlan.

“We are so excited to give back to the community and some of our state’s sickest kids through our partnership with the Children’s Hospital Foundation – the first of its kind for NightOwl,” Ms Tristram said.

“As an organisation, we are extremely passionate about supporting and adding value to the communities we live in and serve and wanted to live up to ‘OwlPromise’ through allowing our customers to turn their everyday transactions into a force for good.

“Together, through the collective power of small change, we know the NightOwl community can make a huge difference for sick and injured kids across Queensland,” she said.

To jump-start the fundraising efforts, NightOwl will make a $5,000 donation to the Children’s Hospital Foundation and get a first-hand experience of their impact, visiting the Queensland Children’s Hospital with essential convenience snacks to fuel healthcare workers helping sick and injured kids.

Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Lyndsey Rice says the support from the NightOwl community will help the not-for-profit continue to change the outcomes for sick kids in hospital.

“We are incredibly honoured that Children’s Hospital Foundation was chosen to be the nominated charity for the inaugural NightOwl OwlGood fundraising campaign,” Ms Rice said.

“Each break-through in research, investment into new equipment or load eased by our patient and family support team – that is because of the generous support of our partners like NightOwl who allow us to continue to help sick and injured kids get better.”

The NightOwl wall token campaign will help the Children’s Hospital Foundation support Queensland’s sickest kids through funding life-saving medical research, investing in vital new equipment and providing support and entertainment for children and their families.

Customers will be able to purchase a wall token and donate to the Children’s Hospital Foundation up until 10 January 2023.

Customers can support the initiative by visiting one of NightOwl’s 80 stores across Queensland, NSW and WA.
