New cafe to be part of Perth national park redevelopment

Registrations of interest are being sought from individuals and organisations interested in operating a new cafe within Perth’s John Forrest National Park.

Forming part of a new park centre, which will be the central point of the visitor hub once the John Forrest National Park Improvement Project is complete, the cafe will have an internal dining area of 180sqm and an alfresco dining area of 150sqm.

The cafe’s operator will also be given the opportunity to provide dine-in, takeaway and function catering, as well as obtain a liquor licence.

“The redevelopment and upgrades underway at John Forrest National Park are creating a world-class, accessible park that will include a broad range of activities available to allow the public to enjoy the natural beauty of the area,” says WA Environment Minister Reece Whitby.

“This new cafe presents a fantastic opportunity for an enterprising operator to be part of the transformation of WA’s first national park.”

In addition to the new cafe, the park centre will be home to an interpretation centre and function space that will showcase and interpret the cultural values and heritage sites within the park.

Interested operators have until 16 August to register their interest.

The John Forrest National Park Improvement Project is expected to be completed in 2026. For more information, visit dbca.wa.gov.au/johnforrestimprovementproject.
