The Transport of Dangerous Goods Competent Authorities Panel has released a new Dangerous Goods Response Guide for Australia and New Zealand. Designed as a resource for first responders during the initial phase of transport incidents involving dangerous goods, the Guide brings together environmental, fire, safety and DG concerns to be addressed in the first critical minutes following an incident.
Complimenting the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (https://www.ntc.gov.au/sites/default/files/assets/files/ADG%20Code%207.7_0.pdf) the Guide is a much shorter ‘quick reference’ resource for all those who find themselves on site when an emergency involving the transport of dangerous goods occurs.
This Guide represents the instructions and key areas of concern for all of the competent authorities on the panel, including fire, safety and environmental authorities.
