The fourth Buy West Eat Best annual trade show, Meet the Buyer, is set to attract local food and beverage exhibitors showcasing more than 500 products to 600 visitors when it is held at Crown Perth on 22 October.
Registrations are open for WA’s premier food and beverage industry event with exhibitor space selling fast and expected to sell out.
Department of Primary Industries Regional Development Manager Food Industry Development Deborah Pett says Meet the Buyer is the most significant trade event for Western Australian food and beverage producers and buyers across all market channels.
“Meet the Buyer is growing in status and standing with strong interest from delegates from around the state, across the country and from overseas, including major supermarket retailers, gourmet grocers, chefs, restauranteurs, hospitality groups, importers as well as media and educators,” Ms Pett said.
“Meet the Buyer is for every food and beverage producer and particularly suited to regional businesses because in one day, under one roof, they have access to some of the most influential buyers, future customers, and the ability to create business networks and contacts that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
“As a facilitator, it’s extremely rewarding to watch Western Australian businesses connect with and expand their supply chain as a result of attending Meet the Buyer.
“It’s where business connections are made and opportunities grow – I encourage delegates and exhibitors to secure tickets to attend now,” she said.
The Western Australian economy is currently supported by over 1500 food and beverage businesses, employing over 19,000 people and turning over $8 billion in revenue per year.
Buy West Eat Best is a voluntary food labelling and marketing initiative developed by the Western Australian Government to assist local food and beverage producers to promote their products to consumers whether they be grocery shoppers or those that dine out.
Held at the Crown Perth on 22 October, Meet the Buyer is the biggest and most diverse showcase of WA food and beverage businesses. Now in its fourth year, Meet the Buyer is set to attract 600 visitors, from buyers and importers, chefs, and sommeliers through to media and educators, to discover a range of unique products that have been grown, farmed, fished, processed, prepared and served in Western Australia.
